Introduction
The Chemistry Laboratory is engaged in advanced scientific research within the Faculty of Education. Herein, students will learn the way of scientific perspectives through research in advanced science. This laboratory focuses not only on training teachers of science and chemistry, but also on training scientists, including university teachers, and on developing science communicators who can bring advanced science to the general public.
In the graduate school, we aim to develop highly specialized human resources by further deepening the knowledge and research methods learned in the undergraduate school as the Solid State Chemistry Laboratory. You can deepen the specialized knowledge of the subject required to become a high school teacher. You can acquire the knowledge and experience necessary for scientists and researchers, including university teachers. You can hone your skills to play an active role in the company as a professional.
Research in the Laboratory
In the laboratory, our research focused on the field of “solid state chemistry” in chemistry field. In addition to creating novel materials, the research is a study to “design materials” so that the expected properties and characteristics can be obtained by looking ahead to the properties. For example, we are developing electronic materials that are useful for next-generation electronics by designing their electrical properties. In another study, we are also developing visual sensors by designing patterns of biologically originated proteins. Since these researches use advanced technologies such as nanotechnology, students will also learn about the functions and roles of advanced equipment.
A book containing the Hasegawa's "Nanoscale electrocrystallization" was published in this November.
